Climate and environment-related fears and anxieties are on the rise everywhere. As with any type of stress, eco-anxiety can lead to burnout, avoidance, or a disturbance of daily functioning. There is a lot at stake in terms of how these difficult feelings are tended to and coped with.

Planetary Health Postdoctoral Fellow Dr. Britt Wray, based at the Stanford Center for Innovation in Global Health (CIGH), has written a forthcoming book focusing on these challenges, “Generation Dread: Finding Purpose in an Age of Climate Crisis” (Knopf).
